Join us for the Chilly Chili Cook-Off at Christmas on Main — a fun, spirited competition open to all home–chefs, teams and chili enthusiasts alike. Whether you’ve got a secret family recipe or you’re cooking up a bold new creation, this is your chance to bring the heat and vie for top honors.

 

How it works

• Contestants register in advance to compete.

• On the day of the event, each competitor/team sets up their station, prepares their chili, and presents a sample to the judges for scoring.

• The event also features a “People’s Choice” tasting: the public can sample chili entries and vote for their favorite.

• Winners will be announced at the end of the competition, with awards for best judged chili and most popular chili among the attendees.

 

Rules in brief

• Only one chili recipe per entry/team is permitted.

• All chili must be prepared fresh according to the timeline specified by the organizers.

• Cooking must comply with health-safety standards (food temperatures, sanitary conditions, etc.).

• Ingredients and cooking equipment must meet event requirements (e.g., use of on-site cooking, no pre-cooked chili, etc.).

• Judging criteria typically include aroma, consistency, color, taste and aftertaste, while the People’s Choice is determined by public votes.

• Failure to comply with rules may result in disqualification.

• Must have fire extinguisher for generator or open fire!
